Restorative Vocal Care
Restore, Retrain, Reclaim Your Voice

As a professional or semi-professional singer or healer, vocal issues can be stressful and worrying. Fear of losing work — or even a potential career change — can intensify tension, strain, and anxiety, which can make vocal challenges worse.
Restorative Vocal Care is a specialised form of vocal training designed to help singers recover from non-permanent vocal damage. Whether you’ve recently completed voice therapy, are experiencing vocal fatigue, tension, or a temporary loss of range, this program bridges the gap between rehabilitation and performance.
This approach is rooted in healthy technique, gently retraining the voice to function freely, efficiently, and powerfully — without strain or risk of further injury.

Who This Is For

Restorative Vocal Care is ideal for singers, speakers and entertainers who have noticeable vocal issues t:
-
Have overused or misused their voice
-
Are recovering from vocal fatigue, hoarseness, or strain
-
Are returning to regular singing, speaking, or voicework after therapy
-
Experience tightness, reduced range, or breathiness
-
Want to identify and unlearn bad vocal habits
Whether performing live, recording in the studio, or singing as part of your creative process, your voice is your instrument — and it deserves careful, expert attention.

How Restorative Vocal Care Works

This isn’t about “pushing through” or just singing better. Sessions are highly personalised, focused on:
-
Identifying the root cause of vocal issues
-
Unlearning harmful habits
-
Rebuilding technique using kinaesthetic, visual, and audial cues
-
Creating a sustainable voice-friendly routine
-
Educating you on vocal anatomy, function, and self-care
Sessions are gentle, supportive, and adapted to your voice and creative goals. The aim is to restore confidence, allow you to sing and speak freely again, and maintain vocal health long-term.

Why Singers, Speakers and Entertainers Need This

Your voice is more than sound — it’s your story, expression, and livelihood. Long hours recording demos, repeating lines, or performing emotionally without proper technique can lead to:
-
Vocal fatigue or reduced range

Strained high notes or cracks
-
Reduced stamina for sessions or gigs
-
Tension in jaw, tongue, or throat
Restorative Vocal Care offers a safe, professional space to recover, rebuild technique, and future-proof your voice for gigs, tours, and recordings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Need to Know
How can I benefit from Restorative Vocal Care
Your voice is a part of you. As it is yours, it is very easy to take it for granted and put off treating it like other instruments. Unlike other instruments, it comes for free, but like other parts of your body, it is vulnerable to damage.
Speaking and singing are physical exercises; we use our whole body for both. Like any other physical exercise, if you don't learn how to use your body safely it is very easy to slip into bad habits, causing vocal fatigue and damage. And if you've recently undergone vocal therapy, it's particularly risky.
With the right training, you will be able to understand how to use your instrument correctly so that you can sing even the most difficult songs, speak at length or project your voice without causing injury.

Do you have specific qualifications?
Yes, I have a Rock School Teaching Licentiate (LTCL, Level 6) and a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Level 7). While I am not medically trained (and therefore cannot perform medical interventions), I have extensive knowledge and experience in vocal health and have worked successfully with hundreds of singers, speakers and voice workers in the past five years.
How much do you charge for Restorative Vocal Care
Restorative Vocal Care usually takes around 3 months for people who are committed to their recovery, and starts at £712.
Where do you hold your sessions?
Remedial Vocal Care sessions are available online. A limited number of in-person slots are available at Overdrive Studios in Deptford. Availability for consultations reflects availability for full sessions.
Are online sessions as good as face-to-face sessions?

I have been teaching online since 2018 and have students around the world, including China!
Proving that online lessons are as valuable as face-to-face lessons.
As long as you have a strong internet connection, online lessons can be just as good, if not better, than face-to-face lessons. As an international vocal coach, I have students all over the world who benefit from online lessons.
Plus, you can take lessons anywhere you like and there's no need to figure out travel times or navigate traffic!
If you don't want to take sessions at home there may be practice rooms or similar to hire by the hour in your local area.
Do you deliver in singers' homes?
A limited number of on-location packages are available, starting at £250 per session.
