Summer has arrived in London! It's been a couple of weeks since the last downpour and winter coats seem to have been cast aside in favour of sunglasses and cool drinks!
Speaking of cool drinks, at this time of year it's important to remember to stay hydrated - remember, our vocal chords are the first things to dehydrate and the last to rehydrate.
With the onset of summer, I have decided to start sharing some of my experiences with you...
Last week, I had the privilege of being coached by top U.S. vocal coach Greg Enriquez, I rewarded a group pf my most committed students with a trip to see Motown The Musical and joined my friends at Garageland, Camden Lock Tavern for live music by unsigned bands Trash Culture, The Gee Strings and Bad Nerves.
It's been a good week for my students, too, with two of them getting through first auditions for theatre companies. Good luck to them in their upcoming second auditions!
All effective professionals, whatever their expertise, should continue learning and keep up to date with industry developments, so next week I will be taking a lesson with Simona Ficarotta to find out about the Institute for Vocal Advancement and their teaching philosophy.
Come back for my review of my lesson with top vocal coach, Greg Enriquez.
